Durban, 3 December 2015: The Cell C Sharks are delighted to present our home and away kit for the 2016 Vodacom Super Rugby competition.

The design of the jerseys is culturally inspired and based on the five pillars of The Sharks brand, which is Innovation, Courage, Passion, Unity and Perseverance.

Commenting on the launch of the jersey, The Sharks CEO, John Smit said: “We have always prided ourselves as being leaders in innovation and matchday activation. Our brief to the BLK team was to design a jersey that best represents our rich KZN culture and our proud history. At the same time we wanted a modern and edgie look.

“We are pleased with the end product, which has already received positive review from major retailers in South Africa. Thank you to the BLK team for their effort and commitment towards making our vision a reality. We hope our fans enjoy the new design.”

William Hughes, CEO of BLK South Africa added: “BLK prides itself in producing cutting edge products, using the latest technology in fabric with innovative additions. We are proud to announce that the 2016 Cell C Sharks kit was 100% locally manufactured in a sustainable, carbon neutral factory.

“The brief that was given to us by The Sharks was to produce a high quality jersey that best represents the five pillars of their identity. We have gone with the traditional black and white for home and away matches and added in a Cherry coloured jersey for specific away games as well. “

“BLK is proud of our association with The Sharks and we are delighted to announce that we are now the most visible rugby brand currently. This is in line with what BLK is all about and that is ‘Beyond Limits Known’.”

The new Cell C Sharks jersey will be available from The Shark Cage and all major retailers from Friday, 4th December 2015.
